About the Event
We have heard your pleas, petitions, and ululations! There will be an added beer stop along the route!
That’s right, it’s time for another history run with Bo Shoemaker! This time, we will be learning about the history of the mafia in Rochester! You’ll learn about the Alphabet War, the Hammer Conspiracies, and some newly-uncovered history mysteries about the 1970s and 1980s mafia scene!
There will be about four stops along the route, where Bo will share interesting facts about the mysterious history of the mafia in Rochester. Participants should be able to keep a 12:00 min/mile pace and will be able to regroup at each history and/or beer stop before continuing.
The run will be about 4 miles long, and will begin and end at Dinosaur BBQ on Court Street.
The cost of the run is $5, which will be returned as a $10 gift card to Rochester Running Company.
Bo has a master’s degree in history and is an appellate court attorney in Downtown Rochester. He has published local history books (e.g., A History of Camp Cory https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XRG2QGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_J86ICbN2B4NRX) and writes a breakfast blog (www.xonuts.com).
